June Highlights at Bristol's Basement 45

Bristol's longest-running nightclub venue has got a huge month of music locked in for June, with five parties on the calendar to celebrate a wide range of musical genres. Kicking off with the return of Afrobeat specialists Take 2 on Saturday 1st, check out our full Basement 45 June 2019 rundown below.

Hosted by Manchester-based clothing brand Thrive II Exceed, Take 2 is all set to light up Basement 45 with high-energy Afrobeat vibes from start to finish. Headlined by London-based DJ Honcho who has played alongside the likes of Naira Marley in the past, this one is certain to create a carefree, stimulating environment for any and all in attendance. Advance tickets on sale now starting at just £7.

 

Lagoon: The Final Episode // Monday 3rd June

Monday night parties are pretty few and far between in Bristol, with pretty good reason, but if your week's off to a stinker and you feel like cutting loose to forget your troubles, then the last-ever Lagoon event should be at the top of your list. Setting up at Basement 45 for one last mix of the very best funk, soul and disco around on Monday 3rd June, the organisers will be inviting their favourite Bristol resident DJs to supply the soundtrack to what is sure to be a send-off to remember. "Closing time is here" reads the event's Facebook listing, "come along for what is sure to be the liveliest swansong you will ever experience."

inloop w/Robert, Scooba and mo Bautista // Friday 7th June

One for the cash-strapped among you, which, of course, is most of you - inloop are back in Bristol on Friday 7th June for another FREE night of banging minimal and tech house. With renowned Bristol selectors Robert, Scooba and Mo Bautista at the helm you can be sure this one's gonna go off, and we guarantee you won't find another free event in the city better than this one.

 

The Charity Shindig // Thursday 20th June

Raising essential funds for The Julian Trust, organisers of an emergency night shelter in central Bristol for homeless people and rough sleepers, The Charity Shindig is set to bring together some of the biggest names in the South West party scene for a charity night like no other. Expect 4x4, jungle, rollers and neuro from the likes of Mr Shindig, Crossy b2b Shiya, Bodhi b2b Dreamskape, Irie b2b Big Al and Porge b2b DJ Bulb. Entry costs just £5 on the door, so you can have it off without breaking the bank, in the knowledge that you've done a good deed. What's not to like?

 

Hugh Hardie Shadows & Silhouettes Album Launch Party // Friday 21st June

Renowned Bristol-based drum n bass producer Hugh Hardie invites his home city to join him in celebrating the release of his second studio album in this one on Friday 21st June, with tickets already moving quickly and expected to sell out well in advance. 'Shadows & Silhouettes', due out at the end of the month (28th June to be precise) on Hospital Records, is one of the most eagerly anticipated dnb albums to come out of the city in a long time, so this certainly isn't one you'll want to miss. Hardie will be joined on the night by Pola & Bryson, Whiney, GLXY, Phaction and MCs Seige and Medic on host duties.
