Sunrise City 5k through Bristol on Friday 24th May 2019
Posted on: 21 May 2019There's nothing quite like waking up to a beautiful sunrise; that wondrous, glowing, orange orb beaming through your window and greeting you like an old friend at the beckoning of a new and wonderful day. (Well, unless you indulged in one too many pints of Old Rector's Knobbly Sporran the night before, of course.) So, for those early risers out there who fancy a brisk and galvanizing jog before everyone else has even contemplated getting out of bed, you can take part in Sunrise City 5k around Bristol on Friday 24th May 2019.
Bristol joins the ranks of other cities (Leicester, Nottingham, Birmingham, Peterborough, Sheffield and Derby are the other incumbents), where those early of morn and enthusiastic of run can participate in an invigorating jog (or walk, if you prefer).
It all starts in Millennium Square and will cover a route that will take you around the harbourside, Queen's Square, Castle Park, and the main city centre shopping area before a pootle along the river to the finish line. And all before 8.30am.
Money raised from this fun fundraiser will go towards When You Wish Upon A Star, a charity which grants wishes to children living with life threatening illnesses. The event takes place between 5.30am and 8.30am and tickets cost £15. For more information and to register, head here.
