Few have had a bigger influence on hip-hop or are as well respected on the scene than Yasiin Bey, better known as the all-conquering Mos Def. Rescheduled from the original date in early February, there are still a few tickets left for this one on Wednesday 17th April so act now and book yours via the link below to avoid missing out.

Mos Def's The Ecstatic.

Returning to Bristol for the first time in over a year, Yasiin Bey's hip-hop moniker Mos Def is one of the most instantly-recognisable names of the genre's globally-revered golden era of the late 80s and 1990s.

His two best-loved solo projects - the seminal 1999 album Black On Both Sides and The Ecstatic in 2009 - are widely regarded as two of the best hip-hop releases of all-time, and he'll be performing the latter in its entirety in at Bristol's O2 Academy next Wednesday.

For any hip-hop head - and there are a fair few in Bristol - the chance to catch The Ecstatic performed live in full certainly shouldn't be passed up, the album itself boasting fan-favourite tracks like Life In Marvelous Times and the Slick Rick-featuring Auditorium. Moving away from music in recent years and more towards activism and film projects, there's a good chance you might never be able to see Mos Def on stage in Bristol again after this one - don't miss it!

This show was rescheduled from Sunday 3 February. All tickets are valid for the new date, but if you can't make it, you can get a refund from wherever you made your original purchase.

Tickets for Yasiin Bey live at the O2 Academy Bristol on Wednesday 17th April are on sale now and can be found here. For more information on the gig or to see what else is coming up at The O2 Academy, visit their official website or check out their Facebook page.
