Here at 365Bristol, we're committed to making you aware of the best Bristol has to offer in terms of live music, great food and drink, days out and more. With the Live Music Highlights series, we'll be providing you with a list of the top live events at the beginning of every month, taking into account some of the city's favourite acts and venues as well as some you might never have heard of. Joining us in March are virtuoso ten-piece Nubiyan Twist for a Saturday night showcase at Trinity, all-conquering electronic duo Maribou State, renowned Los Angeles exports The Internet and many more - find all the details below.

Nubiyan Twist will play live at Bristol's Trinity Centre in March.

Nubiyan Twist @ Trinity Centre, Saturday 2nd March

10-piece powerhouse collective Nubiyan Twist will perform their usual mesmerizing fusion of jazz, hip-hop, afrobeat, Latin and reggae when they hit the stage of Bristol's Trinity Centre on Saturday 2nd March 2019. Praised by London In Stereo as 'wholly satisfying and addictively tasty', their eclectic confluence of diverse sounds and styles is a scintillating, energising musical melting pot.

Jon Hopkins (live) @ The Marble Factory, Saturday 2nd March

Often praised as one of the most unique artists on the UK electronic music scene, producer Jon Hopkins returned last year with the critically acclaimed Singularity, his fifth full studio album. Showcasing his deft touch in combining contemporary classical composition with intricate electronica, Singularity was received as one of Hopkins' best-ever records, and we can't wait to catch it live in full at The Marble Factory this month.

Maribou State @ O2 Academy Bristol, Friday 8th March

London-based electronic duo Maribou State have quickly captured minds across the UK and beyond with their exceptional production and awe-inspiring live shows. Their second album, Kingdoms In Colour, was released last year to widespread critical acclaim and features collaborations with the likes of renowned Texan trio Khruangbin and vocalist Holly Walker. They'll be playing Bristol's O2 Academy as part of a three-date tour that will also take them to Manchester's Albert Hall and the O2 Academy Brixton. Tickets for this one sold out pretty quickly, but keep your eyes peeled for any going online - you won't want to miss it.

Ibibio Sound Machine @ Trinity Centre, Saturday 9th March

Electronic afro-funk outfit Ibibio Sound Machine's music is quite unlike anyone else you're likely to find in the UK, fusing traditional African sounds with electronic elements inspired in equal measure by the golden era of West African funk and London's constantly-evolving electronic music scene. The two worlds are brought together by the storytelling of British-Nigerian vocalist Eno Williams, resulting in an emotive display of Nigerian poetic imagery and an edgy afro-electro soundscape.

Waldo's Gift Reworks: Outkast @ The Gallimaufry, Wednesday 13th March

Made up of acclaimed Cousin Kula drummer James Vine, Route2Roots bassist Harry Stoneham and Alun Elliott-Williams on guitar, Waldo's Gift have made a name for themselves with weekly performances at The Gallimaufry on Gloucester Road. They'll be presenting their regular show on Wednesday 13th March with an intriguing twist, paying tribute to pioneering Atlanta hip-hop duo Outkast with a medley of their best-ever tracks. Free-to-attend midweek jams don't get much better than this so get yourself down.

Patawawa @ The Louisiana, Saturday 16th March

DIY disco trio Patawawa enjoyed a hugely successful 2018, and this year looks to be more of the same as they tour their music around some of the UK's favourite small venues. Backed by the likes of NME, Line of Best Fit, DIY and Clash and receiving radio play from Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music, the group have already amassed several million streams across all digital platforms. Don't miss them live, supported by Bristol group Tungz, at The Louisiana on Saturday 16th March.

Don't miss Arctic Monkeys' seminal debut album performed by a full brass band in Bristol this month.

Arctic Monkeys Performed Live by a Ten-Piece Brass Band @ O2 Academy Bristol, Thursday 21st March

Many Arctic Monkeys fans have been left unimpressed by the direction the band has taken in the last couple of years, but there's no debating that their all-conquering studio debut, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, is still one of the best albums to come out of the UK in the 21st century. While we're unlikely to see the real Arctic Monkeys perform on a Bristol stage any time soon, for now you can catch that seminal 2006 album played in its entirety by a full brass band on Thursday 21st March 2019.

The Internet @ O2 Academy Bristol, Wednesday 27th March

Fronted by vocalist Syd, formerly of the hugely popular LA group Odd Future, The Internet are a five-piece group that incorporate R&B, funk, hip-hop, jazz, electronica and more into their diverse sound. With four full studio albums under their belt since their inception in 2011, the band's prolific output has been matched by their intimate and soulful live shows, with this performance at the O2 Academy their first appearance in Bristol as part of a six-date UK & Ireland run. Tickets have unfortunately sold out but keep your eyes peeled for any going spare!
