Posted on: 21 Jan 2019

JS Bach's magnum musical opus - The Brandenburg Concertos - will get a full, unexpurgated rendition by one of the world's finest baroque ensembles at St George's Bristol on Friday 25th January 2019.

The 20-strong expanded Florilegium group of performers will play Bach's masterful, indomitable collection of six concertos - originally written as an elaborate but failed attempt for employment to the Margrave of Brandenburg in 1721 - in a fresh, fantastic rendition one of the very best compositions in the baroque oeuvre.

Renowned for its diversity of instruments, harmonic and melodic invention, instrumental virtuosity and sheer astonishing, epic scale, this is a concert for fans of not just Bach's music and baroque music but GREAT music that continues to delight, enthrall, beguile and astonish us with the sheer monumental talent and musical invention of Bach himself.

The performance of this incredible group of compositions begins at 7.30pm. Ticket prices start at £5 for students (limited availability) and go up to £35. You can find out more about this and other upcoming concerts at St George's Bristol here.
