Clubbing in the Crypt at St John on the Wall Crypt on Thursday 1st November 2018

Posted on: 30 Oct 2018

Usually, there's nothing more embarrassing for a son or daughter than watching their dad dance (usually badly) at a disco, but Clubbing in the Crypt at St John on the Wall Crypt, which takes place on Thursday 1st November 2018, is a family-friendly gig where there are sure to be more hearty laughs than awkward grimaces.

Spinning a selection of tuneage from the 50s to present day, this encourages everyone - mum, dad, gran, grandad, kids of all ages - to get in the disco groove for an afternoon of foot-stomping fun, led by a professional DJ and accompanied by a state-of-the-art sound system and lighting.

There will be four 1-hour slots: 11am to 12pm and 12pm to 1pm which will be specifically aimed at pre-school whippersnappers, while sessions between 1pm to 2pm and 2pm to 3pm will be for school-age young 'uns. You can, however, just pop in as you like if you prefer.

St John on the Wall itself was built in the 14th century and remains one of Bristol's most stunning pieces of architecture, representing an historic trip back through time, with the upper church and crypt remaining pretty much in its original, unaltered condition. An iconic landmark in the city, it's located under the archway which frames the end of Broad Street.

Entry is free of adults, £2 for children with each additional child costing £1, and you pay on the door. For further info about getting all disco-y with your dad or groovy with your granny, head here.

St John on the Wall Crypt is located at Nelson Street, Bristol, BS1 2EZ.  Tel. 0117 9291766
