Bristol Doors Open Day weekend takes place again this year from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th September 2018, offering another thrilling annual sneak-peak into the normally hidden nooks, crannies and treasures of some of the city's most significant buildings and landmarks.

Redcliffe Caves: Bristol Open Doors

Consider it a kind of backstage pass to many of Bristol's most iconic and revered monuments which will once more let you explore incredible buildings, take part in illuminating guided tours and plunge into a veritable plethora of activities and events over three days. On top of that, it's all free too.

So, what jewels can you expect this year then? Well, particular highlights for this year's Bristol Open Doors Days include exploring the Floating Harbour architecture on a stand-up paddleboarding tour; learn more about the award-winning development of Wapping Wharf which, as we all know, has impressively transformed a once derelict site into a vibrant cultural hub; and uncover more about Bristol's buildings, its engineering feats, neighbourhood developments and continually changing panoramas by boat with Bristol Ferries.

Want some more? OK, how about a jam-packed roster of drop-in talks and tours at such well-known and historic buildings and venues such as Bristol Old Vic, St Mary Redcliffe, Clifton Cathedral, Underfall Yard, Avery's Wine Merchants, St Nicholas Market, The Bristol Wing, Red Lodge Museum, Clifton Rocks Railway, Bottle Yard Film Studies and Redcliffe Caves.

Not yet convinced? Why not head to Bristol Blue Glass for a day of bauble-making, free talks and, demonstrations with their friendly team? In honour of the weekend, they're even offering visitors the chance to forge their own bespoke bauble for just £15! Head down between 10 am and 4 pm on Saturday 15th to have a go.

Always phenomenally popular, Bristol Doors Open Day will again this year be another treat for history, culture and architecture buffs, affording everyone a rare and beautiful chance to have a good ol' nosey at many of the city's most important iconic landmarks.
