Soul singer Heather Small is to play the Marble Factory in Bristol on Tuesday the 17th April 2018.

Heather was born on the 20th January 1965 and grew up on a West London council estate. She joined first band Hot!House whilst still a teenager, before joining M people as their lead singer and going on to become one of the iconic voices of the 90s. The group sold over 10 million albums worldwide and produced hit songs such as “Moving On Up” and “Search for the Hero”. 

 

As well as achieving great success with the band, who won Best British Dance Act at the BRITs in 1994 and 1995, she has also released two solo albums - ‘Proud’ in 2000, and ‘Close to a Miracle’ in 2006.

More recently, Heather took to the floor as a contestant on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2008, where her personality made her an instant hit with TV viewers and led to multiple guest appearance son shows such as BBC Breakfast, Paul O’Grady, Alan Titchmarsh and GMTV. 

 

In 2009, Heather completed two highly successful tours throughout the UK, during which she sold out over 30 venues.

In addition to her career accomplishments, Heather is also a proud ambassador for children’s charity Barnardo’s, and is regularly engaged in fundraising efforts, getting involved in various projects throughout the country to help the charity care for vulnerable young people. 

 

This is sure to be a night not to miss. When asked what keeps her going and inspires her to keep on releasing more material, Heather replied 'If you got the feeling I do when I sing, you’d understand'.
