For one night only, Bristol's award-winning all-female comedy night What The Frock! is back after a two year break.

***THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO THE BRISTOL SNOW***

The very special, one-off comedy show at the Redgrave Theatre in Bristol is a fundraiser for the charity Bristol Women's Voice and is part of BWV's series of events throughout 2018 celebrating the centenary of (some) women finally receiving the vote.

The phenomenally popular compere Cerys Nelmes is returning as your host for the evening and will introduce a star-studded line-up that includes Kate Smurthwaite, Evelyn Mok, Amy Mason and Ada Campe (winner of the 2018 New Acts of the Year Award).

What The Frock! Comedy is an award-winning series of comedy events celebrating females in comedy.

As well as at a regular night in Bristol, they have hosted shows in 6 other UK cities, run an all-female comedy competition, held workshops, hosted solo tours, improv theatre, published the UK's first ever book celebrating our long history of funny women and more.

Formed in January 2012 by journalist Jane Duffus, the first event was held in Bristol in May 2012. Since 2012 they’ve worked with more than 100 comedians including Aisling Bea, Luisa Omielan, Jayde Adams, Cerys Nelmes, Mae Martin, Shazia Mirza and London Hughes.

What was meant to be a one-off event showcasing and proving women’s position in the world of comedy, has now become a regular event, with approximately 50 events having been hosted. They have worked with in excess of 100 comedians.

In addition to the monthly comedy club in Bristol, they have also expanded to put events on in cities and towns including London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Bath, Yeovil and Exeter.

What The Frock!  have worked with selected women's charities to raise money for the excellent work they do. They have launched the What The Frock! Newcomer Award, one of only two all-female comedy awards in the UK. They have hosted solo shows by some of thier favourite acts; put on improv theatre shows; and in spring 2015, published the UK's first ever book celebrating our long history of fabulously funny women.
