Could Catch 22 be Bristol's best Fish and Chips?Posted on: 21 Dec 2016
Fish, chips and so much more are served up at one of Bristol’s very finest seafood restaurants. The takeaway serves perhaps the best fish supper you’ll find in the city centre while the restaurant takes things up another notch.
Situated on College Green, Catch 22 is ideally located for a lunchtime stop-off while shopping to rest the weary legs, or even just to get away from the office. It’s also perfect for an evening meal before drinks or a theatre trip at the Hippodrome or show at Colston Hall.
The menu obviously leads with Britain’s classic Fish & Chips. Perfectly crisp every time, the fish is a real triumph. Sat alongside are the cooked-to-perfection chips. Chunky, crisp and full of flavour; you’ll struggle to find better in Bristol. There’s also all the usual favourites you would expect: sausages, sauces and even Pieminister pies. Lovely.
It breezed to a 5 Star review from our resident foodie, Jamie Caddick
Lunchtime deal: get yourself a cod and chips with mushy peas, gravy, curry sauce or beans for just £4.95! Other options include: sausage, calamari, cod goujons and sausage bap. For a little more you can get practically anything on the menu and, even when adding the normally up to £4 extras, you’ll never pay more than £9.95. Amazing value for food of this quality.
If you’re not feeling fishy then let Pieminister take care of you. Numerous offerings from the kings of pastry are available. Fancy a burger? No problem – beef, chicken, cod halloumi or veg do you?! Maybe one of the many salads instead? The extras board is as long as your arm so best of luck with choosing your accompaniments. The only problem you’ll have here is choosing what to order. It’s perhaps the greatest problem to be lumbered with, no?
