Bristol Brazilian jiu jitsu club Artemis BJJ is holding its charity GrappleThon 2015 event over International Women's Day weekend of 7-8 March 2015.

Raising money for the charity, Equality Now, the event takes the form of a 24 hour grapplethon which see at least 2 people at any one point grappling with each other. The event will be held at My Gym located at Unit 4B, Dean Street, Bristol, BS2 8SF.

Equality Now is an incredible charity that works to end violence and discrimination against women and girls around the world. The target amount is £4000, and you can make a donation here

Their last 24 hour 'GrappleThon' in 2014 raised around £5,000 for Kinergy, a Bristol charity which provides counselling for rape survivors.

It is predicted that around 68,000 women will have to deal with domestic violence in their lifetime, and that means its more crucial than ever that women learn effective self defence techniques.
