Cosy Club to open this Friday on Corn Street in Bristol

Posted on: 11 Jun 2014

A new Loungers' bar, the Cosy Club will open this Friday 13th June 2014 on Corn Street in Bristol. According to The Loungers, who own the Cosy Club bar/restaurant concepts have a total of 47 outlets nationally (7 Cosy Clubs and 40 Lounges to date), this is their most ambitious project to date. They've spent around £750,000 converting the old banking hall on Bristol's historic Corn Street into their newest Cosy Club and at the same time have created 50 jobs for local people.

The huge site at 31 Corn Street has been transformed into what the owners are calling the ‘Cathedral of all Cosy Clubs’ featuring a decorative glass domed ceiling with the original cornicing and fresco work enhanced with LED lighting. Enormous chandeliers hang from the ceiling. The bar and restaurant areas are furnished with vintage sofas, 1930s cocktail chairs and mix-matched tables and chairs whilst the walls are adorned with aristocratic oils, family portraits, Chinese room-inspired wallpaper and swathes of polished Bath stone. The Loungers describe it as 'Roman Temple meets Gentleman’s Club with the ultimate altar - a six metre high bar carved from American oak'!! Sounds fab!!

Since the launch of their first site in Taunton in 2010, the Cosy Club has gone onto launch in Bath, Stamford, Salisbury, Cardiff and Exeter. Bristol's Cosy Club is their latest opening and as Loungers MD Alex Reilley said, “We’re delighted to finally be opening Cosy Club on Corn Street. Bristol is our home town and where Loungers and Cosy Club was born so to open such an exciting venue in the heart of this amazing city is a big deal for us.”

The Cosy Club caters for all tastes each and every day. Whether you’re looking for great coffee, a business lunch or a lazy all-day brunch, The Cosy Club is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The menu features everything from authentic tapas, ‘proper job’ burgers and duck shepherd’s pie to 35-day aged Hereford grass-fed rump steak served with triple cooked chips. An ever-changing specials, kids’, vegan and gluten-free menu is also available. With defined bar and dining areas and full table service, customers will be able to enjoy a selection of premium offerings but with a strong emphasis on value-for-money.

The Cosy Club throws open its doors on Friday 13th June 2014 and will be open every day from 9am to 11pm with food served until 10pm. The address is 31 Corn Street, Bristol, BS1 1HT.
