On Saturday evening, 4th October 2014, we made our way to Durdham Downs in Bristol to the fantastic sight of the Big Red Top. The Moscow State Circus is in town!

It was a colourful start to the show with jugglers followed by an amazing one man balancing act who seemed to defy the laws of gravity. The atmosphere was electric with clapping and cheering and many faces staring in awe.

If you think you have seen juggling before, think again! Not only were four entertainers juggling between themselves, but they were also doing it whilst balancing in mid air. Later on when the lights were turned off they continued to juggle with illuminated clubs which delighted the audience, especially the kids.

Awesome female acrobats at The Moscow State Circus in BristolInterspersed between the acts a funny balancing clown appeared which made the adults and children laugh alike. We especially liked the scene where he drenched himself in water several times and seemed to have an endless amount of water spouting from his mouth much to the amusement of our daughters.

Next, a sensational act where three female acrobats hung in the air from a giant ring, twirling from their necks and ankles whilst doing the splits.

Feathered Trapeze Artists at The Moscow State Circus in BristolAfter a short interval the second half opened to the site of wonderful feathered trapeze artists swinging from the Big Top. Tumbling from the highest heights, swinging and catching each other like birds in the sky. It takes your breath away and they make it look so effortless. You could feel the crowd holding their breaths in anticipation, hoping that they don't miss! Hands down, this was the best act of the night.

Other great acts included talented football juggling, whip cracking and somersaulting soldiers.
