Louisa Rose Allen, known popularly by her stage name Foxes graced Bristol's Thekla with her hauntingly beautiful vocals and dynamic stage presence.

Arriving late on stage by fifteen minutes, Foxes was instantly forgiven by a crowd hanging on her every word and mesmerized by every movement of her hips. Accompanied only by her keyboardist and drummer, Foxes began the hour-long set with her track ‘White Coats’- a thought provoking song on the true obsessive nature of love. Her performance was captivating and her powerful vocals, coupled with her fun-loving demeanour and quick costume change from jeans to shorts made the night one to remember. Foxes’ tracks ‘Beauty Queen’ and hit single ‘Youth’ brought the crowd near to tears through the absolute power of her voice and emotion. The need to restart the track ‘Just For Tonight’ due to a mic issue showed Foxes’ ability to laugh at herself and somehow brought her closer to the fans in the crowd. Needless to say everyone feels a slight bit of joy at the prospect of a musician ‘messing up’, but when said musician can recover so gracefully we can offer nothing but applause and awe.

The night ended on a high note with a final mash-up cover of Drake’s ‘Hold On We’re Going Home’ and Eminem/Rhianna’s ‘The Monster’ leaving the crowd calling loudly for an encore which she was happy to oblige. The encore track of Rudimental’s ‘Right Here’ topped off an incredible setlist and overall amazing performance.
