Woodspring Model Air Show to return to Yatton in July

Posted on: 14 Jun 2022

The much-loved Woodspring Wings Model Air Show is returning to Yatton, armed once again with another showstopping display of the world's most advanced model aircraft.

A regular fixture on the flying enthusiasts’ circuit since 1989, 2022 sees the show return to its traditional slot at the beginning of July.

Taking place at Claverham Drove - located to the North of Yatton - on the second weekend of July (Saturday 9 and Sunday 10), the South West’s biggest model aircraft show regularly welcomes around 5000 visitors per year.

Head to the show's website for a list of ticketing options.

Having grown year on year, the stunning two-day show features all-day model flying displays from a hand-picked selection of some of the UK’s top pilots. In recent years, there have also been flypasts from Lancasters, Spitfires and Red Arrows.

Woodspring Wings own as many as 21 acres, including the flying field as well as adjacent fields – that double up as event space, camping and on-site parking. There will also be a selection of traders, a bar serving throughout the day and a food court.

In addition, the show will feature displays of model boats and cars as well as hosting stands for multiple well-known organisations such as RAFA, Air Ambulance and the Bristol Aero Collection. See below for a site map.

The current list of traders and exhibitors includes Ak Rc Models, Al’s Hobbies, Bishop Aviation, Cambrian Planes, City Garden Shop, Hanuman Kites, IAD Models, Inwood Models, Model Technics Ltd, Morris’ Mini Motors, WE Models and Your Final Vinyl among others.

Show entry for adults is £10 in advance (£12 on the day) and free for accompanied children (under 16 years). Well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome and there will be disabled parking on site.

There are also weekend camping tickets (£50 in advance) including entry for 2 adults. Available from Friday morning till Monday morning, the site will include toilets and a water source. Pre-booking is required.

Visit the Woodspring Wings Show website to find out more about the annual event that takes place on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 July.
