Epic, crushing and heavy beyond words, Yob has acheived legendary status in recent years due to their unmatched aesthetic and incredible body of work. Formed in 1996 in Eugene, Oregon under the leadership of doom metal mastermind Mike Scheidt on guitars and vocals, the band drew early comparisons to groups like Neurosis, Sleep and Electric Wizard, developing modern sounding doom metal that hearkened back to the classics, with the New York Times calling them "one of the best bands in North America". In 2014, they released their seventh studio release, 'Clearing the Path to Ascend', landing at #1 on Rolling Stones metal albums of the year.
Fast forward to 2017 where YOB signed with Relapse Records for their incredible 8th full-length, 'Our Raw Heart' released June 2018. The album was conceived admidst dire circumstances that nearly left frontman Mike Scheidt dead after suffering from an extremely painful and potentially fatal intestinal disease. More exposed than ever, both physically and emotionally, YOB bleed out seven riveting tracks of enormous volume and pensive, transcendental beauty across 75 minutes of ultimate doom. A brilliant musical progression in the YOB continuum, 'Our Raw Heart' is the band at their most aggressive, impassioned and eclectic.
In support are Belgian black metallers Wiegedood - ft. members of Oathbreaker and Amenra - who released 'III', the final instalment of their 'De Doden Hebben Het Goed trilogy', in April 2018 on Century Media to acclaim.
