Baz Lurhmann's hit musical set to touch down in Bristol in July 2023

Strictly Ballroom will now arrive at The Bristol Hippodrome from 10-15 July 2023 - rescheduled from November 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and then rescheduled again with The Lion King arriving in June 2023!

Set to sweep another run of audiences off their feet, Strictly Ballroom will be embarking on a dazzling nine-month tour across the UK.

With Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel-Horwood directing and a score written by Luhrmann and Craig Pearce, Strictly Ballroom is set to be one of Bristol's theatrical highlights of the year.

Based on the award-winning global film phenomenon that inspired the world to dance, Strictly Ballroom: The Musical tells the story of Scott Hastings, a talented, arrogant and rebellious young ballroom dancer.

When his radical dance moves see him fall out of favour with the Australian Federation, he finds himself dancing with Fran, a beginner with no moves at all. Inspired by one another, the pair defy convention and discover that, to be winner, the moves don't need to be strictly ballroom.

The production is set to bring together a cast of over 20 world-class performers, breathing life into an iconic score featuring tracks like 'Love is in the Air', 'Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps' and 'Time After Time'.

The show's dazzling dance moves and mind-blowing costumes combine to create a theatrical experience full of heart, comedy and drama, promising to provide audiences with an unforgettable night under the glitter ball.

The extensive Strictly Ballroom tour will see the show touch down in towns and cities up and down the UK and Ireland, including Edinburgh, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, Birmingham, Plymouth and, of course, Bristol.
