Michael Kiwanuka on Wednesday 3 May 2017 at Colston Hall in Bristol.
Michael Kiwanuka, earned world wide acclaim when he first debuted in 2012 by launching his album ‘Home Again’, and in the same year he won the BBC Sound of 2012 poll. His soothing voice has led to compare him with artists like Otis Redding and Bill Withers. After 2012, he has toured the world extensively, has been a guest for Mumford & Sons, and has been performing on tours with Adele, Jake Bugg, Alabama Shakes and Stevie Wonder.
Despite his busy schedule of touring, he has took out some time for two big studios. He got the studio in 2012, by giving Black Keys, Dan Auerbach to record b-side, ‘Lasan’, for his Getting Ready single, and in 2013 Jack White invited him to record at Nashville studios where they made two singles: You’ve Got Nothing To Lose and a cover version of Town Van Zandt’s ‘Waiting’ Round To Die. Both the tracks got released in 2014 Spring on 7” vinyl as a part of White’s Third Man Records Blue Series.
