Rising blues-rock talent at its best
Blues-rock guitarist Kris Barras and his fast-rising band are coming to Bristol.
On Friday October 13, expect a night of superlative musicianship, soulful melodies and evoking lyricism at The Fleece.
It’s been a busy 18 months for Kris Barras Band. They’ve just released their highly-anticipated album, Light It Up, after prolific touring.
As of late, the group have appeared alongside the likes of Beth Hart, Walter Trout and the legendary Billy F. Gibbons (and that’s just a handful!)
But these tour slots are easily explained. As one of the U.K.’s most exciting new acts in contemporary blues rock, the group earned acclaim under the command of Barras, who adopts a no-nonsense approach to rock, blues and country.
Writing the majority of his music at night, Barras has forced himself out of his comfort zone on the new album. A non-conformist, Light It Up sees Barras at his most expressive yet, straddling genre with ease.
But don't just take our word for it: Guitar Techniques gave the new album 5/5: “No nonsense Rock & Roll, delivered with all the meters well and truly in the red…prime examples of hooky, superbly executed material with guitar playing that is simply divine.”
