Live music at Arnolfini
Dead, Blood Music, Rhain, Chrononautz, Repo Man, and Champ will all be performing at The Anolfini in Bristol in the New Year, as part of Howling Owl's New Year/New Noise project.
As ever the line up is a genre hopping trip, with raw intrigue being the only real lineage. Spectres headline, a year on from the release of their critically acclaimed debut album Dying that has lead them to drag their noise all over Europe and back again, and they promise to mark the anniversary with with the kind of one off, physical show Bristol has come to expect from them. Joining them will be singular drum brutalist Blood Music who’s recent releases on Diagonal Records have been rattling walls all over, and the beguiling Rhain who will stun the noise into silence.Chrononautz will land and deliver a live hardware techno assault after Repo Man’s sax drenched post punk, and art collective CHAMP will be popping up free-form all over the place.
Howling Owl Records will be hosting another of their famous New Year/New Noise events at Arnolfini across the New Year period. This is a comprehensive showcase of forward-thinking music, art, and general noise from Bristol and surrounding areas.
Since their one-off compilation tape in 2011, Howling Owl have been an ever-evolving outpost of music, art, and reaction. They have long been at the centre of Bristol’s music scene, releasing forward thinking music on vinyl, self publishing papers and zines to programming a wide range of shows and exhibitions in off-kilter locations; Howling Owl are a product of the town from where they came, the city where they live, the people they work with and the music industry they work against.
