American Football performs at SWX Bristol on Friday 13th September 2024.
American Football formed in Urbana, Illinois in 1997 by frontman Mike Kinsella, drummer Steve Lamos and guitarist Steve Holmes.
They released their self-titled album in 1999, which would go on to become one of the most acclaimed albums in the emo genre of the era. Just a year later, the band split before returning in 2014 with Mike Kinsella’s cousin Nate on bass, releasing two more self-titled albums in 2016 and 2019.
The show will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their 1999 self-titled debut album, also known as ‘LP1’.
