Hard Evidence at Withywood Centre
“Having survived an abusive relationship, Jan is approached to join a lay advisory group on the study about mindfulness programme for women with experience of domestic violence. When one of her good friends Christine, finds herself in a relationship which is becoming abusive, Jan must use her newfound confidence to support Christine through her journey. “
Hard Evidence is a performance piece about two women affected by domestic abuse, their journey of mutual support, their newfound confidence, and the empowering effect of public involvement in research.
This play is written and performed by two women with direct experience of domestic violence. It is a story of friendship, support and of overcoming abuse (in its many forms).
First performed at acta theatre in Bedminster in November 2021, it’s going on a Bristol tour to The Withywood Centre on Saturday 2 July 2022 at 3pm or The Greenway Centre, Southmead, on Friday 8 July 2022 at 6pm. Watch Jan as she grows more confident and empowered with the help of a research advisory group. Can her friend, Christine, feel the benefits too?
The performance will be followed by a Q&A with the women behind the production.
