Tucked away on Temple Street in a former wingmakers is the city’s best kept secret and much loved Real Ale house, The Cornubia.
The Cornubia boasts an impressive selection of real ales, with up to 8 different choices from all around the UK on any given day. That includes their very own bespoke seasonal beer, ‘Cornubia’, which is brewed locally with a unique taste for each season. The Cornubia also sell up to 5 ciders from South West breweries, as well as the usual selection of draught and bottled beers, lagers, wines and spirits you would expect from your favourite public house!
Hungry? The Cornubia also cater for their hungry guests with a choice of traditional Cornish Pasties and hand-made pork pies, served with a wide selection of chutneys and pickles – not to mention their famous home-made fiery pickled eggs: the ones that bite back! All of which can be enjoyed in their beautiful secluded beer garden with the added bonus of their frequent BBQ’s – weather permitting!
The Cornubia are also a ‘dog friendly’ pub and are rather fond of their own pets which include their three lovely dogs – Bella, Saffy and the new family member Lucky, and their turtles!
Quiz Night
Every Tuesday evening at 7:30pm The Cornubia host a light-hearted quiz that's free to enter. The winning team gets a bottle of wine and, more importantly, the losing team gets to choose the next weeks specialist round!
On the first Tuesday of the monthly is their monthly rollover jackpot quiz. It’s £1 per person to enter and the winning teams get the opportunity to answer a very tough question and win the jackpot. If you get it wrong you still get a bottle of wine! Oh and there is usually some free grub thrown in!
Summer Sunday Jazz
Every Sunday from 1pm til 3pm our inhouse jazz performers the Cornucopia Trio will be playing outside in the sun. Come down and chill in the beer garden and relax to some great jazz. The artists change every week so you can’t get bored!
