An inclusive multi-use arts venue
Ashton Court Mansion is envisioned as an inclusive, multi-use arts venue serving Bristol and North Somerset, providing a vibrant space for art, theatre, performance, and community activity. Since Artspace Lifespace (ASLS) assumed stewardship of the mansion in 2018, the historic Georgian estate has reopened its doors to the public, hosting exhibitions, sculpture workshops, family events, team away days, and rehearsals for theatre and dance. Under ASLS’s guidance, the Arts Mansion has grown into a lively cultural hub, offering a diverse programme of arts and community events that reflects the creativity and spirit of the region - check out their upcoming events here.
In 2019, the formation of The Friends of Ashton Court Mansion further strengthened engagement by introducing open days and guided tours, allowing visitors to explore the building’s rich heritage. Those wishing to delve deeper can enjoy a Heritage Lottery–funded podcast or take an architectural journey around the estate’s exterior. Today, several distinctive spaces within the mansion - such as the elegant Music Room, the bright south-facing Panelled Lounges, and the atmospheric Great Hall - are available for hire, accommodating everything from exhibitions and workshops to performances and filming. With continued collaboration between ASLS and the community, Ashton Court Mansion is once again thriving as a cherished cultural landmark.
