The Seven Stars is a historic, traditional pub located on one of the remaining cobbled streets in Bristol.
The pub was crowned winner in the CAMRA Bristol and District Pub of the Year in 2013, 2011 and 2010 and is popular with locals and visitors alike. The building itself is Grade II listed and was constructed in the late 17th century. The pub retains many of its original features and aims to provide a warm and old fashioned alternative to modern pubs and bar chains.
2016 saw the Seven Stars featured on both Michael Portillo’s Great British Railway Journeys and the Hairy Bikers series Pubs That Built Britain in what turned out to be incredibly amusing and entertaining days.
The Seven Stars is a free house and prides itself on a constantly varying range of real ales and well as a number of classic West Country ciders. There is a dart board and pool table for patrons to indulge in traditional pub activities and the walls are full of stories from the pubs colourful history. This includes a plaque commemorating the small part a patron and the landlord played in the abolition of the slave trade in Britain.
The Seven Stars is home to the longest running monthly beer festival in Europe. Called the “Beeriodical” it takes place on the 1st Monday of each month and typically lasts for 4 days. Every month they offer 20 different cask ales from small independent breweries.
Live music can be heard every Sunday when there are sessions of both acoustic and Irish music. Children are welcome at the pub which also offers a daily happy hour in the afternoons and a discount for students. There is no garden but a small outside seating area is provided at the pubs front for smokers and others.
