A quiz takes place every Wednesday evening and is always good fun. It's light hearted and not too serious...but try telling that to the quizzers in attendance!
The award winning venue serves up some of the best pub food that you will find in the City. Served weekdays between 12-2pm & 5-9pm and Saturdays between 12-9pm. Light bites, burgers, mains and puds are all available and all reflect the warm and hearty nature of the pub itself.
Their Sunday Roasts are extremely popular so booking is of course recommended. Served from 12pm until 5pm, though they might run out before that due to high demand.
A rotating range of meats and vegetarian options are available and all are served with potatoes roasted with garlic, rosemary & thyme. Roasted sweet potato & parsnips. Sage & onion stuffing. Seasonal veg. Pigs in blankets. Yorkshire pud. Featuring the Hope and Anchor red wine gravy!
We must of course mention the garden, with 3 tiered levels backing on to Brandon Hill. It is huge and basks in sunshine throughout the day - there are a couple of secluded spots if you feel the need for some shade.
If you are looking for a pub with pool tables, TVs, gaming machines and the like then this probably isn't the place for you. If you are looking for a proper legendary Bristol pub adored by visitors to and residents of our great city then make haste toward Hope and Anchor.
