Small Business Saturday 2018 is almost upon us!

Our great city of Bristol is known for its many independent and small businesses, with almost every quarter of the city inhabited by unique and interesting shops. With this year's Small Business Saturday taking place on Saturday 1st December, here are some of the best areas in the city to mkae the most of in support of the occasion.

 

The Arcade 

The Arcade is located in the Broadmead shopping area of the city centre. Set inside a beautiful Victorian building, it acts as a bustling hub for the small shops that inhabit it.  From tailors to vape shops, bespoke clothing brands to noodle bars, The Arcade has it all. Pop by this Saturday for a look inside, we can guarantee that you’ll find a whole load of wonderful things inside!

Gloucester Road 

Famous for being the longest stretch of independent and small shops in Europe, exploring Gloucester Road is an absolute must. Our advice is to start in Stokes Croft and walk your way up, along the way you’ll find vintage clothing shops, lovely cafes and more. It’s also worth checking out all of the many charity shops that reside there - the perfect place to grab a bargain.

North Street 

This wonderful road is in Bedminster. It has a diverse range of eateries, butchers, fishmongers as well as second-hand and charity shops, salons and more.

St Marks Road Easton

This quarter of Bristol is known for being a great place for award-winning restaurants, quirky independent shops and cafes. Boasting a thriving community feel, there is some fantastic independent shopping to be had especially for food, herbs, spices, baked goods and more, head to the legendary Bristol Sweet Mart.

St Nicholas Market 

A visit to St Nicks Market is a MUST. With Bristol’s largest collection of independent retailers, there is something for everybody. Stalls line the indoor and outdoor surroundings with delicious treats, bespoke products and unique, vintage items. It was named Britain’s Best Large Indoor Market in 2016, which is no surprise at all. Made up of three sections: Exchange Hall, Glass Arcade and Covered Market, spending a whole day there is easily done.

Clifton Arcade 

Located in the heart of Clifton Village, the beautiful Victorian arcade is home to some very unique shops. Antiques, jewellery, vintage and hand-crafted clothing stores aplenty, make this wonderful spot for diverse shopping.
