Wallace & Gromit Free Outdoor Screenings in Bristol on Thursday 26th & Monday 30th July 2018

Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll probably be aware of a certain trail involving a certain canine character called Gromit, sculptures of which have now been gleefully dotted around various locations in and around Bristol.  What better to way to further celebrate everyone's favourite dog - and faithful friend to madcap inventor Wallace, of course - than by re-watching four of their fun-packed escapades?

***THE SUNDAY SHOW IS POSTPONED, WILL NOW BE ON MONDAY 30TH JULY***

Wallace and Gromit on The Big Screen Bristol

That's right, a cracking quadrilogy of epic Wallace and Gromit adventures will be projected on the We The Curious Big Screen on Thursday 26th and Monday 30th July 2018. Running in conjunction with Festival Of What If, it's also the perfect chance to doff your cap to and revel in the incredible, inventive work of the city's very own model-making maestros at Aardman Animations.

Even better, the screenings will be free, so you'll be able to sit al fresco (hopefully still basking in the rays of the glorious sun, if this weather holds out) and chuckle along to the (mis)adventures of Bristol's favourite animated duo without once dipping into your wallet.

The four clay-mation classics being screened over the two days will be A Grand Day Out (10.30am), The Wrong Trousers (12pm), A Close Shave (2pm), and A Matter of Loaf and Death (4pm). The animated shorts have a running time of 30 minutes and have a PG rating.

Deckchair seating will be available on the day on a first come, first served basis, and you're more than welcome to bring along your own blankets, beanbags and comfort-making accessories. No need to remind you the British weather is somewhat capricious at best, so probably wise to be prepared for any meteorological unpredictability as well.

This cracking quartet of screenings also coincides with a series of Aardman Model Making Workshops at We The Curious, more of which you can find out about here.

Gromit Unleashed 2 has, of course, already well and truly kicked off, and you can learn more about it, the 60-plus colourfully decorated sculptures, get the map or the app, and everything else you need to know right here.

You can also find out more about the free outdoor screenings on the event's official Facebook page here.
