A Night of Swing at Harvey Nichols on Friday 18th May 2018Posted on: 14 May 2018
Swinging on a Friday night. (No, not that kind - get your minds out of the gutter, dear reader.) The musical kind. For me, they go together like beans on toast, Cannon & Ball, politics and corruption. So the city's swing lovers are in for a treat when Harvey Nichols in Bristol hosts a Night of Swing on Friday 18th May 2018.The Second Floor Restaurant of this estimable, upmarket department store will be positively bursting with jazzy vibes, plenty of gourmet food and satisfyingly quaffable drinks. You'll be able to choose from Harvey Nichols' enticing, exciting new menu of delicious dishes too, revamped for the Spring months and choc-a-bloc with fabulous meals made using the freshest ingredients.
The swing itself will be performed by splendid local ensemble The Paper Moon Band, so you can eat, drink and be merry accompanied by the cracking riffs, vintage rhythms and infectious musicianship of this classy and talented ensemble.
Jamie is a writer, blogger, journalist, critic, film fan, soundtrack nerd and all-round Bristolian good egg. He loves the music of Philip Glass, the art of Salvador Dali, the writings of Charles Bukowksi and Hunter S Thompson, the irreverence of Harry Hill, and the timeless, straw-chomping exuberance of The Wurzels. You can sometimes find him railing against a surging tide of passing cyclists, or gorging himself senseless on the Oriental delights of a Cosmos all-you-can-eat buffet.
