Meat Box and Wild Beer collaborate at Wapping Wharf in BristolPosted on: 16 Apr 2018
Beer and Meat lovers in Bristol and beyond. Pencil 23rd April in your diaries…legendary butchers Meat Box and infamous restaurant Wild Beer are pairing their efforts for an evening of live demos.
If you’ve always wanted to know your flank from your bavette and how to cook each to perfection, then this is the evening for you. Especially as there will be plenty of draft beers to accompany you along the way.
Owner of Meat Box Luke Hasell will be joined by expert butcher Chris Vincent to talk guests through the cuts of beef and why Luke cares so much about high welfare meat and breeding happy and healthy livestock. Chris will talk you through all the cuts and demonstrate some butchery all the while Head Chef Matthew Young is cooking a selection of organic steaks to perfection then chatting you through how to get the best from your steak of choice.
The collaboration, which is becoming quite a trend for the Wapping Wharf collective of independent businesses, is timed as part of Great British Beef Week and if successful could be the start of regular butchery demos and classes.
Luke Hasell, owner of Meat Box and local organic farmer said: “It’s not just about selling tasty and high welfare meat at Meat Box it’s about helping people understand the cuts and how to get the best from what you buy. We had so many enquiries and questions about what we supply we jumped at the chance to come to Wild Beer and do a demo. After all; steak and beer what more is there to love?”
If your appetite has been well and truly whetted then you’ll be pleased to hear that Wild Beer will be holding its first ever steak night on Friday 27th April so book soon!
