If all that festive cheer is getting somewhat overwhelming and you need a break from the centre's unrelenting crowds of prezzie-grabbing savages, M Shed in Bristol has the perfect tinsel-free tonic with its Historical Walk: Old City event on Thursday 21st December 2017.

Culture, not Crimbo, is the order of the day here, which will take you a 1.8 miles amble around the very beating, historical heart of Bristol's Old City.
Led by some of the region's leading historians, the steady stroll will take you to a variety of some of Bristol's most important buildings and landmarks, places which provided the genesis of its development as a major seaport and centre of commerce.

An entertaining and illuminating tour that sheds light on many of the people, places and events which shaped the city's dominating role on national culture, history and art, chances are there won't be a mince pie or bauble in sight.

The walk starts at 10.30am and will go at a gentle pace as to make it suitable for everyone of all fitness levels. It's also a 'pay what you think' event so you can chip in a couple of quid at the end if you want.
