Posted on: 12 Oct 2017The Birmingham based band JAWS are coming to The Fleece in Bristol on 22nd November 2017.
Revelling in the jubilant reception to their sophomore record, dream pop trio JAWS - are delighted to announce a fresh run of UK dates that will extend their Simplicity Tour into the Winter months of 2017.
JAWS new album ‘Simplicity’ featuring the singles ‘Cast’, ‘Right in Front Of Me’, ‘What We Haven’t Got Yet’ & ‘Just A Boy’ will be performed live for the first time in Bristol at The Fleece, a venue that has been host to hundreds of bands in the past.
The indie band was formed in their hometown of Birmingham in 2012, when the boys were at college together. Since then, they have made waves in the British indie music scene with the release of their first studio album “Be Slowly” in 2014. They have toured with and supported the likes of Milk Teeth, Brawlers and Fickle Friends and are heralds of the B-Town sound.
With DIY Magazine hailing JAWS’ development into “grunge-infested, kicking and screaming juggernaut”, Simplicity was praised by DORK Magazine who defined the record as “the sound of a band truly becoming their own” and across much of the music press, before finding itself a ubiquitous entry in many of the annual 2016 Album of The Year listings.
The news also follows the recent unveiling of the band’s video for current single ‘Cast’. Like much of the album it stems from, ‘Cast’ is a sonic manifestation of temerity and evokes a sense of self-determination and of overcoming inner turmoil. Accompanied with on-the-road footage shot during some of the band's ecstatic UK shows earlier in the run, the video turns the camera around on the crowds that have feverishly supported Simplicity at the overwhelming gigs and on record.
The trio looks to end their tour for their warmly received ‘Simplicity’ record on a high before getting back to working on their next studio venture.
