Cabot Circus Christmas Lights Switch On 10th November 2017

Posted on: 11 Oct 2017

Bristol might well be the city for which the phrase 'bright lights, big city' was coined, but it's a place that will be lit by the additional irresistible glowing luminescence of the Christmas Lights Switch-On, which takes place at Cabot Circus on Friday 10th November 2017.

A highlight on the city's already packed calendar - well, a highlight in the run-up to Crimbo, at least - this free event attracts families from all over the region to watch someone flick a switch and present the shopping quarter in an eye-poppingly magnificent display of shimmering incandescence. (Who that someone actually is isn't certain yet. Sometimes it's a celebrity, sometimes not, so keep your eyes peeled for any potential 'sleb announcements.)

Marking the official launch of the city's festive season, as well as Cabot Circus and Broadmead, lights will also be twinkling away to herald the arrival of this tinsel-tastic time of year at the stone's-throw locations of Corn Street, St Nicholas Market, College Green and Park Street.

Celebrations for the switch-on will start gathering momentum from 4.45pm and the event is free.

For more information, shine a light on the Cabot Circus official website here.

Broadmead and The Arcade will also be hosting many Christmassy events and a Christmas Lights Switch-On so keep an eye on their websites for any news.
