O'Reilly, who has previously worked on titles like Fast & Furious, Star Wars: Rogue One and Pirates of the Caribbean, described how he is "incredibly excited" to have been selected by the prestigious Encounters Film Festival for Kubrick By Candlelight. "It's such a fantastic festival and to be one of only three Irish films in the competition is an honour."

Kubrick By Candlelight is described as a light-hearted comedy set behind the scenes of the filming of Stanley Kubrick's 1973 feature Barry Lyndon. The film features performances from a number of newcomers, including Michael Thomas-Nolan as Stanley Kubrick, and is narrated by acting heavyweight Brian Cox (Churchill, Braveheart).

Taking place from the 19th-24th of September, Encounters is the UK's leading short film and animation festival, and features a diverse selection of short film screenings, feature films, Q&As and more alongside high-level masterclasses and workshops. The festival is centred around the Encounters Festival International Competition - one of the world's leading competitions for short film and animation.

Kubrick By Candlelight will play as part of the Comedy: Love Bites screening at the Watershed Cinema at 10pm on Thursday 21st September. Tickets and passes for the screening and for the full festival are available via the Encounters website here.
