Great Bristol Half Marathon

On Sunday 17th September, Bristol will be the place to be for thousands of runners, joggers and walkers who are eager to tick that half marathon challenge off their lists. 


The Simplyhealth Great Bristol half marathon returns in its second year as part of the Great Run series. The event comes with its own distinguished history: first staged in 1989 and known as the Bristol Half Marathon, the city centre run has become a long-held tradition in the national running calendar.


Bristol is one of seven European cities to be awarded the annual title of European City of Sport. Over 10,000 runners every year make this a must do event with an atmosphere second to none.

Great Bristol Run

The entry price is £31.20 per entry but there is a 20% block-purchase discount for members of clubs affiliated to England, Scottish or Welsh Athletics or the British Triathlon Federation. This offer is available to clubs purchasing 20 or more places in the event.


Any athletes (Junior/ U23 / Senior) that have represented Great Britain at XC/ road or track (at 1500 and above) over the last 3 years will also be offered free elite entry.


To compete via an elite entry for the Simplyhealth Great Bristol Half Marathon you must meet the following time criteria:
