Posted on: 13 Mar 2017

Hope and Anchor is now serving up some of Bristol's best roasts in traditional surroundings. Not only that, Bubble and Squeak is served from 5-9pm once the roasts have all been devoured. It's the perfect spot to add to your list of places you need to try on Sundays.

The Hope and Anchor in Bristol is an independent pub located between Clifton Triangle and the Harbourside on Jacob's Wells Road, just down from QEH School. A great selection of craft beers are available including local ales from the likes of Arbor Ales, Wiper and True and guest beers too. Beerd Brewery are a huge and welcome feature!

Their Sunday Roasts are extremely popular so booking is of course recommended. Served from 12pm until 5pm, though they might run out before that due to high demand.

Once the roasts finish, attentions turn to Bubble and Squeak from 5-9pm...or until they run out:

It's one of the ultimate comfort foods and it's great to see a Bristol venue making a special event out of it. Bubble Bubble (vegetarian/vegan) or Squeak Squeak (including all the great leftovers of the day's meat) are heaped into a giant Yorkshire pudding and slathered in gravy.

Expect butternut squash, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, rosemary & thyme roasted potatoes, parsnips, sage & onion stuffing, seasonal vegetables and more. It's a real homely dish and one sure to top off a great weekend in Bristol. They are priced at £9.95 each.
