England Cricket in Bristol - 2 Matches and Ticket Info Announced

Posted on: 10 Nov 2016

England will play two matches at Bristol's Brightside Ground in the summer of 2017. Welcoming Ireland in May and the West Indies in late September, the games will bookend a great season of domestic cricket for Gloucestershire at the same venue.

England's first game of any kind on home soil in 2017 will be the first ODI against Ireland in Bristol on Friday 5th May. The Brightside Ground has undergone major redevelopment in the past few years and is now an impressive cathedral of cricket - the perfect setting to kick off England's summer and a huge coup for Bristol and the South West.

After a packed summer schedule that includes a tour by South Africa and then the ICC Champions Trophy on home soil, England welcome the West Indies to round off the home season. Thanks to excellent support from the Bristol public, and the facilities now available at the Brightside Ground, Eoin Morgan's men will again return to the city on Sunday 24th September.

These games will take place at either end of the Gloucestershire CCC season. Expectations are high for the 2017 season after the success of winning the One Day Cup in 2015 was followed by some very exciting T20 play in 2016, though no trophies found their way to the Gloucs cabinet this time around. Tickets for the England fixtures are now on sale and are available here. Tickets for the Ireland match are £30 or £10 for under 16s, while tickets for the West Indies are priced at £45-£65 for adults and £15-£25 for under 16s.
