VegfestUK Bristol takes place over the weekend of May 23rd, 24th and 25th and promises to be a great day out for families and kids alike. Europe's largest veggie event is expected to attract up to 25,000 visitors to Bristol's Amphitheatre over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The festival, now in its 12th year, celebrates the best of a vegetarian lifestyle in a fun, informal and lively fashion. This year there are plenty of activities lined up to entertain children and families alike. Including:

Smoothie bikes – Use pedal power to create vegetable and fruit smoothies.

Pirate treasure trail – design the perfect plate to replace the NHS Eat-well plate, plus rainbow hands and a bit of impromptu singing and dancing

Art and craft 'Junkfish' tent – Children and adults alike will be able to partake in a number of creative activities including, making masks, juggling balls or fairy wings! There's also a playdough kitchen, a huge box of duplo, a dressing up box and more!

Clay modelling workshops – create your favourite items with clay.

Hoola hoops – learn hoola-hoop skills from the amazing Amy HoopLovin.

Running alongside these family activities are 140 caterers and stalls, talks, cookery demos, workshops and short films around a vegetarian theme plus entertainment from comedians and musicians (day and night). This year's evening headliners are: Boney M ft. Maizie Williams, Gwen Dickey's Rose Royce, Abba Gold, Peter Hook and the Light, Ruts DC, Goldblade, Zion Train and Black Roots.
