Bristol Thai Festival This Weekend

Bristol Thai Festival This Weekend

Posted on: 24 Jul 2014

This weekend sees the return of the Bristol Thai Festival starting Saturday 26th to Sunday 27th July 2014. The festival now in its third year is looking to build on the success of the previous two years.

This year the festival has had a change of location, moving from its usual position and setting up at Lloyds Amphitheatre on the Bristol Harbourside. The festival is intended to promote an understanding of Thai culture amongst the people of Bristol, many of whom will have their own cultural connections from across the world.

The Bristol Thai Festival is part of a trend of similar festivals which now take place throughout Britain celebrating Thai culture and which attract people from all different cultures - The Wales Thai Festival in Cardiff from 2-3 August and Torbay Thai Festival in Paignton from 23-24 August 2014 are also organised by Desy Thai.

Bristol, itself a thriving multi cultural community, has embraced the festival and thousands attend to enjoy entertainment which includes, Thai dance, music and song. There will also be a display of Muay Thai Boxing to keep the crowd who are looking for something a little different entertained. For those who prefer something less energetic there will be the opportunity to experience a Thai massage.

The Bristol Thai Festival will also feature a wide range of stalls which will be selling freshly cooked Thai food and souvenirs. There will also be a Thai beer garden and rides for children.

Tickets cost £3.50 for adults and £1 for children (5-10) for the day.
