The gig was incredible and in every song they performed you felt closer and closer to them. I think it?s safe to say that everyone had an amazing night and we just hope they come back to Bristol very soon, I know we?ll be front row again.

Last Saturday, 27 September 2014 the Long Beach California acoustic band This Wild Life had a great turn out at The Exchange in Bristol and we got an exclusive interview with Anthony del Grosso, Kevin Jordan and Rob Lynch  - click here to view. The Exchange is a great venue for relatively small bands; it turns any gig into a very personal experience between the band and their fans.

This Wild Life played The Exchange in Bristol on 27 September 2014

Opening the show for them was 28-year-old British singer/songwriter Rob Lynch from Lincolnshire and the crowd was a bit quiet since no one really knew many of songs but that didn’t stop him as he charmed everyone into joining in with some of his punchy choruses. Rob and This Wild Life first met on the Warped Tour last summer in America and shortly afterwards they began their UK tour travelling to 8 different venues in 8 different cities. They got the crowd on their feet singing along with every word and it was a great evening.

This Wild Life’s, Anthony del Grosso and Kevin Jordan then took the stage and shared a few stories with the crowd about their songs as they worked through their playlist. They were really excited about that since they don’t usually get that much stage time. We learnt about the song ‘No More Bad Days’, which was written by Kevin for his sister who was going through a hard year of chemotherapy and also lost her house (which he mentions on the song).

After finishing their set, Anthony, Kevin and Rob headed to the merchandise table where they took pictures with fans, answered questions and signed autographs. We asked a few of their fans what they thought about them and everyone’s reactions were the same: “They are really nice guys”. And they really are. After that they all went to Fat Lip at The Lanes, where, for the first time in their lives they got to DJ. We asked about that on the interview and they said they were really excited about DJ’ing in a pop punk night since there aren’t any clubs like that where they come from.

The gig was definitely incredible and in every song they performed you felt closer and closer to them. I think it’s safe to say that everyone had an amazing night (including the band) and we just hope they come back to Bristol very soon, I know we’ll be front row again.

5/5
