WNO: Le Vin Herbé will be staged on Tuesday 28 March 2017 at The Bristol Hippodrome.

A  New Production

With La Bohème and Madam Butterfly, we are also giving something off the beaten track in the Spring 2017. Opera audiences are familiar with Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde but Frank Martin’s opera give a different view on the legend. This scarce stage production with such a beautiful and graceful tragedy promises to its audience a truly exciting experience. Tristan and Isolde are enemies which are brought together by the fate when they mistakenly drink the love potion. Their affairs comes to an end with a tragedy.

Running time approximately one hour 50 minutes with no interval

Sung in English with surtitles in English (and Welsh in Cardiff and Llandudno)
