We are delighted to announce the performance of Sister Act at The Bristol Hippodrome from 7 to 12 August 2017.
This new production of the Broadway and West End hit musical comedy is coming back to the UK and stars Alexandra Burke, who shot to prominence when she won the X Factor in 2008. Craig Revel Horwood directs and choreographs the production that is based on hit movie starring Whoopi Goldberg and Maggie Smith. The music has been provided by Alan Menken who has been the winner of a Tony and 8 Oscars. He is well known for his music in Disney’s Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast, Newsies and Enchanted, among others.
One of the funniest and funkiest musical you have ever seen, Sister Act promises you a treat of stunning dance routines and songs inspired by Motown, soul and disco. The story revolves around a diva, Deloris Van Cartier, who sees a murder and her life changes when she is hidden under protective custody. She is disguised as a nun and what ensues is a hilarious tale of the girl who while supporting other nuns to find their voices discovers her own shining voice.
