Natural Selection at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery from 1st June until 1st Sep

Revel in a beguiling ornithological journey in a special collection and exhibition at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery from Saturday 1st June until Sunday 1st September 2019.

Curated by father and son team Andy and Peter Holden, it will take you on a plethora of bird-related stories and facts ranging from the building of nests to collecting of eggs and everything in between. Accompanying all this and Andy's incredible assemblage of personal, found nests, and there will be several multi-screen films and informative range of archival material.

Other attractions focusing on our fine-feathered friends will look at the nest building of that roguish reprobate the cuckoo, the artistry of the bowerbird, and an overview on the function of the nest itself. A Social History of Egg Collection will also take a closer look at its implications on a changing legal landscape.
