London Symphony Orchestra live in Bristol

We proudly announce the live performance of London Symphony Orchestra at Colston Hall in Bristol on Friday 16 December 2016.

“Mozart is sunshine” (Dvorák), although there are clouds on the horizon as two lively Salzburg concertos yield to the heaving maelstrom of Tchaikovsky’s troubled symphony. Talking about Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 “It hangs above the head like the sword of Damocles”, he told his patron: “an invincible force that can never be overcome – merely endured”. A strong pizzicato Scherzo and sparkler of a Finale is on the cards. Moreover you have an opportunity to witness the return of London’s flagship orchestra live where 2 youthful concertos by the teenage Mozart help Danish classical violinist and conductor Nikolaj Znaider flaunt his skills.

An audience of more than 4 billion saw London Symphony Orchestra playing live at the London 2012 Games opening ceremony. Adding more to your delight, we also have Nikolaj Znaider who is the Principal Guest Conductor of the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra. The Times observed that Znaider’s conducting is “spine-tinglingly good”. “Not since the young Gidon Kremer has a violinist caused such a stir as Nikolaj Znaider”, says The Chicago Herald.
