Top stand-up and TV panel favourite Ed Byrne returns to Bristol with another ‘seamless and perfectly timed show’ (Sunday Times). Hailed as a comedian ‘at the height of his powers’ (Observer), Byrne is a regular face on Mock The Week, Have I Got News For You and Live at The Apollo among many others. His latest, ‘artfully crafted’ (Arts Desk) offering asks the question, is life really all that bad or are we just a bunch of spoiled brats?

Observational comedy master Ed Byrne’s star has risen steadily since his university days in Strathclyde, where he started a comedy night called The Comedy Cellar. After ditching studying and heading to London to build up his act, he was nominated for the prestigious Perrier Award in 1998 at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In 2006, his Edinburgh show ‘Standing Up and Falling Down’ was the biggest-selling comedy that year.
Byrne has also had success internationally, having performed to capacity audiences at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, and has made several appearances on NBC’s Late Night With Conan O’Brien. He’s a regular on panel shows such as Mock The Week and Have I Got News For You, and has both compered and performed on Live At The Apollo.
