Broken Brass Ensemble are a 2.0 riot version of the vibrant New Orleans brass sound. Combining the powers of funk, the energy of hiphop and the soul of New Orleans brass, and turning it into a blazing mixture of energy. Broken Brass Ensemble act as urban brass ambassadors, pioneering on their euphoric groove. The band have an innate ability to orchestrate a New Orleans hot brass sound, incorporating weird, wonderful and peculiar melodies, in fabulous superhero fashion, with their proven method in creating heroic melodies.
With origins based in the Netherlands, Broken Brass Ensemble have been firing up a storm all over Europe with an energizing and eclectic aesthetic, pairing punchy basses with hard-hitting brass. Selling out records on CDs and vinyl in just over a year, and consistently filling 300 capacity venues on merit alone; it shows that underestimating this band is out of the question. The enigmatic eight-piece have conquered most of Europe maintaining an omnipresence with slots at the big festivals in UK, France, Germany, Holland, Russia, Algeria, Switserland, Poland and more. In addition, the globetrotting act has sold out UK venues, with airtime from all the big Dutch media and in the UK from a.o. Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show and BBC Radio 6. With almost 400 shows under their belt, and no signs of stopping, Broken Brass Ensemble has become a live force to be reckoned with.
