Bristol's favourite festival is up up and away!
The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta returns triumphantly for yet another uplifting year!
The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is a fun-packed four-day event that takes place every August, featuring hot air balloons, daily activities, and entertainment for all ages. This year's event will be held from August 8th to 11th, 2024.
This is a celebration of all things hot air balloon and so much more! Visitors to the festival can experience the beauty and serenity of the hot-air ballooning world, with special events like peaceful morning ascents, and evening ascents that see the incandescent glow of the balloons of Bristol light up the sky!
That's not even to mention the crowning jewel of the Balloon Fiesta, the Nightglow, which sees groundbound balloons light up with festive joy (and fiery light) to a curated yet wide-ranging soundtrack, in a hypnotising display that isn't to be missed, and really brings visitors together in a display of communal joy.
Of course, it's not just about Balloons - its about the fiesta too! The festival also features a whole range of other entertainments, from a range of street food stalls, to funfair attractions like wurlziters, giant inflatable slides, and even more traditional attractions like the helter-skelter and merry-go-round.
As always with any festival worth its salt, there's music on offer too if you head to the bandstand area, and with the pedigree of the Balloon Fiesta and Bristol's bustling music scene, you're sure to be in for a treat if you give it a go.
The festival takes place at Ashton Court Estate, one of the biggest green spaces and estates in Bristol, with access to wide-ranging spaces and wide wooded spaces, making for a beautiful setting to watch the Balloons drift away.
