Huge live music and late-night club venue in the heart of Bristol’s city centre

An independent events space, live music venue and superclub, SWX is fast-becoming one of Bristol’s very best places to party. Located on Nelson Street, SWX sits in the heart of Bristol; a stone’s throw away from busy student accommodation, the Rough Trade record store and more.

With a location like this, it’s no wonder SWX brings in some of music’s biggest names for gigs, events and late-night DJ sets. But it’s not just about artists and live sound. SWX is a place to hold events, and it's a pretty huge club, too. Take FarFetched: this ever-popular Friday night event brings in students in their hundreds - no doubt due to the cheap drinks and three room-strong party on offer. SWX, Bristol

Live Music: Gigs & Events

As one of Bristol’s biggest live music venues (1100 people at full capacity!), SWX is a consistent choice with touring artists, both big and small.

Musicians from all over the world have graced SWX’s stage, from internationally-acclaimed rap groups to electronic artists, to Bristol’s very own IDLES. In recent times, the venue has welcomed the likes of slowthai, Neneh Cherry, Lewis Capaldi and Jordan Rakei (pictured below).

With its phenomenal sound equipment and unparalleled sightlines, SWX’s stage overlooked is by a mezzanine gallery, allowing gig-goers to get the very best view of their favourite acts. Live music @ SWX, Bristol

SWX by night: Club & Events Space

£4 entry on a Friday night? In Bristol? There’s no mystery as to why SWX’s Friday night party, FarFetched, is a favourite with Bristol’s students. Usually complete with a theme, FarFetched promises a huge party across three rooms; one for guilty pleasures, one for RnB, hip-hop and grime and another for just about everything in between.

On Saturdays, catch CODEC at SWX: a party dedicated to electronic sound. Stage 1 is all about dance, house and bass, while stage 2 platforms RnB, grime and bashment. And watch out for CODEC’s occasional special guests who come down to host. CODEC @ SWX, Bristol
