Rave on Avon 2022: New venue confirmed for festival's long-awaited return
Posted on: 28 Apr 2022After being forced to put plans on hold in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, one of Bristol's best-loved day parties is back...
The Rave on Avon team have announced a last-minute venue change for their eagerly-anticipated 2022 edition, now set to take over the Motion complex for a day of forward-thinking electronic music on Saturday 21 May.
Having been unable to host the celebrated festival in its physical form since 2019, the organisers are set to come back with a bang this spring, and have put together one of their most ambitious musical lineups to date for their Avon Street debut.
Tickets for the one-day festival are on sale now, but are running low - find out more and get yours via Headfirst.
Returning for its 12th edition this year, Rave on Avon is up there with Bristol's very best day festivals, showcasing the very best of the city's underground scene while providing a vital platform for emerging local acts, labels and events brands.
The festival was previously due to take place at new multi-use venue Propyard, but announcing the last-minute change, the Rave on Avon team said they were "let down ... at the last minute," leading them to find a new home at Motion.
A typically diverse lineup will see a host of revered local crews arrive as part of Rave on Avon 2022, including Alfresco Disco, Club Djembe, Concrete Jungyals, Electrikal Soundsystem, Soul Shake and Bitch, Please!
Elsewhere, some of the city's most highly-regarded electronic artists are locked in, with drum & bass pioneer DJ Die, Futureboogie regulars Chez de Milo and Dave Harvey, prolific selector Ellie Stokes, Banoffee Pies signee Gallegos and Invicta Audio resident T-Lex all set to feature.
Running from midday to the early hours, Rave on Avon 2022 promises another vibrant sonic exploration of the Bristol underground, celebrating the innovative artists and collectives at the forefront of the city's sound.
Tickets for the full event are still available in limited numbers, with a handful of fourth release tickets remaining at £17.50 per person.
