Often just a couple of quid to enter, quizzes give you and your mates the chance to test your general knowledge over a few drinks.
And luckily for us in Bristol, there's loads of great pub quizzes happening every week. Here's just a few of our favourites.
Monday
Brewhouse & Kitchen, 31-35 Cotham Hill, Bristol BS6 6JY
Forget the pen and paper: Brewhouse & Kitchen’s weekly smartphone pub quiz is a Cotham Hill favourite.
Kicking off at 20:00 every Monday, the quiz operates via a free downloaded app: Fingers on Buzzers.
Grain Barge, Hotwell Rd, Bristol BS8 4RU
A pub quiz on a boat: what more could you want? Kicking off at 20:00 every Monday, Grain Barge’s weekly pub quiz costs £1 to enter.
Tuesday
The Three Tuns, 78 St George's Rd, Bristol BS1 5UR
It's a new one: the recently-refurbished Three Tuns has got a new weekly pub quiz, costing just £1.50 per person.
As well as classic and themed rounds, the quiz will feature slightly more obscure bar skills rounds, with shots and bar tabs up for grabs for the winners.?

Hosted by ‘local legend’ Jon Cunningham, The Gloucester Old Spot’s weekly pub quiz kicks off at 20:00 every Tuesday.
The Spotted Cow, 139 North St, Bristol BS3 1EZ
Home to one of Bristol’s best Sunday Roasts, The Spotted Cow also hosts a pub quiz and bingo on Tuesdays.
The quiz kicks off at 21:00, so get down early to secure a seat.
Wednesday
The Green Man, 21 Alfred Pl, Bristol BS2 8HD
A cosy pub in the heart of Kingsdown, The Green Man hosts their weekly pub quiz every Wednesday.
They’ve got dozens of gins in stock, plus a rotating selection of guest ales.
The Prince Street Social, 37-41 Prince St, Bristol BS1 4PS
Looking for a mid-week challenge? The Prince Street Social hosts a pub quiz on Wednesdays, kicking off at 18:00.
Head down to enjoy their Burger & A Brew meal deal, 2 for 1 cocktails and join the quiz for just a quid.
The Prince of Wales, 5 Gloucester Rd, Bristol BS7 8AA
A pub quiz complete with £3 Doom Bar: The Prince of Wales on Gloucester Road hosts its weekly pub quiz every Wednesday.
Seamus O’Donnell’s, 13 St Nicholas St, Bristol BS1 1UE
Bristol’s Irish pub, Seamus O’Donnell’s, is the place to go if you’re in the mood for a pint Guinness – and a great pub quiz.
It kicks off at 21:00 every Wednesday.
Thursday
Steam, Clifton Down Station, Whiteladies Rd, Bristol BS8 2PN
Steam is a cosy beer hall at Clifton Down station.
Armed with a big (and heated!) outdoor area, the pub has become a student stomping ground – and with good reason. Visit them on Thursdays for their weekly pub quiz.

Kicking off at 20:00 every week, the Hare on the Hill’s weekly pub quiz boasts big cash and booze prizes. It costs just £2 to enter.
Sunday
The Prince Street Social, 37-41 Prince St, Bristol BS1 4PS
Every Sunday from 18:00, the Prince Street Social invites you and your mates to test your knowledge on a specific theme: whether that be music, sport, film or TV. Sometimes, they’ll even throw in a wildcard theme.
It’s £1 to enter, and you could win a £50 bar tab.
The Hobgoblin, 69-71 Gloucester Rd, Bristol BS7 8AS
They’ve got some of the best burgers in town, and a Sunday night pub quiz. The Hobgoblin is located on Gloucester Road.
